Founded in 2011 by violinist and conductor Hugo Ticciati, O/Modernt (Swedish for Un/Modern) is an internationally acclaimed cultural brand built on reinvention and uncompromising artistic quality. Its projects create unique experiences, connecting musical styles and genres from across centuries and cultures, offering audiences a fresh way to experience music. 

  • Scale & Reach: Internationally active across Europe and beyond, with acclaimed performances at major venues such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Konzerthaus Berlin, Musikverein Vienna, and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam.
  • Residencies: Current 3-year residency at Wigmore Hall in London, with additional residencies at Queen Silvia Concert Hall in Stockholm and Klassiske Dage Holstebro International Music Festival in Denmark.
  • Commissions & New Music: Since its inception, O/Modernt has embraced the world of New Music, engaging in collaborations with composers across the globe. To date, it has commissioned over 50 works from both early-career and internationally renowned artists, including Steve Reich, Pēteris Vasks, Brett Dean, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Dobrinka Tabakova, and Golfam Khayam, with new commissions underway from Osvaldo Golijov and Nico Muhly.
